Health protection and prevention
Strengthening health protection and prevention for members of the Cooperative and members of the Fund.
A multi-purpose cooperative, founded in Amman on 26 May 2025, that brings Jordanian families together and runs the Health Care Fund on their behalf.
Jordanian Families Cooperative — Multi-Purpose, Limited Liability — was founded in Amman on 26 May 2025, and is a cooperative framework bringing together Jordanian families across the governorates of the Kingdom.
From that framework the Cooperative established the Health Care Fund: a cooperative takaful fund set up to ease the treatment costs the Jordanian family carries inside and outside hospital.
The Health Care Fund is a cooperative health takaful fund established by Jordanian Families Cooperative for its members and their families, both salaried employees and the self-employed.
The Fund pools member contributions and uses them to cover health costs under an organised and transparent financial and administrative system. Managed that way, the Fund can keep covering members inside the Kingdom and abroad.
We start at the membership request and stay with the member through to actually using the services. Requests are reviewed under the approved rules and conditions, and once approved and activated the member receives the benefit card used to identify them at approved providers.
Where a case requires prior approval, this is coordinated with the party responsible for approvals, under the approved rules and medical necessity.
Members' contributions are pooled and managed on their behalf, and used to cover treatment costs among the members themselves. That is what takaful means in the Fund.
That framework lets the Cooperative contract with coverage partners and specialised companies to handle the technical and administrative side, while the core relationship stays between the Cooperative and its members.
We tell members what the services include, what needs prior approval, and where the service can be obtained. Where something is limited or excluded, it is written in the services document, and we point members to it.
The steps are set out in full on the How It Works page. And there is one party to contact with a question or a concern: the Cooperative. Not the administrator, not the coverage partner.
For the Fund to be a leading model in Jordan in cooperative health care, built on the principles of solidarity and on easing the medical burden on members, and advancing the idea of health takaful and mutual cooperation.
To provide comprehensive and affordable health coverage and services to Fund members and their families, through sound financial management, trusted medical partnerships, and a sustainable takaful health system that ensures quality of service and the comfort of beneficiaries.
